Bhubaneswar: In yet another hit-and-run accident in Bhubaneswar, two youths were killed after a speeding truck reportedly dashed against their motorcycle on the Hhandagiri flyover.
According to preliminary information, the accident took place on Tuesday night when the speeding vehicle hit the two-wheeler with high impact and sped away from the spot. Both riders reportedly died on the spot.
Police sources said two friends were travelling from Khordha side towards Baramunda in Bhubaneswar on a bike when the accident occurred. The truck, coming from behind at high speed, crashed into the two-wheeler.
After receiving information, a team from Khandagiri police station reached the scene and began an investigation. The bodies were shifted to Capital Hospital for postmortem.
Police have launched a hunt to trace the vehicle involved in the fatal crash. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from various points near the overbridge to identify the offending vehicle and reconstruct the sequence of events.
The identities of the two deceased are yet to be officially released. Further details are awaited.
