Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha will receive heavy rainfall as another low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on September 19.

As predicted by the meteorologist Surendranath Pasupalak, a cyclonic circulation is most likely to form over the west-central Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours on September 17.  However, the low pressure will induce sporadic rainfall as it will drift towards the east.

On the other hand, another low pressure is likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Pradesh coast on September 19 while a cyclonic circulation will form over the east-central Bay of Bengal off the Myanmar coast and later turn into low pressure.

“Going by the modular study, the low pressure off the Andhra Pradesh coast will move towards the east-central Bay of Bengal and merge with the low pressure off the Myanmar coast and move in the north-west towards the Bangladesh coast and trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bangladesh, Myanmar and West Bengal. Under the influence of the low pressure, the rainfall activity in Odisha will begin from September 21 with isolated heavy rainfall in most places. Besides, there will be incessant rainfall in the north Odisha districts,” Pasupalak said.
