Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday rescued a girl, who had been missing from her native place at Dhama in Sambalpur district since the last two months, from Rajasthan.
According to sources, the girl was abducted and trafficked on December 7, 2018. The accused allegedly used chloroform to knock her out and later sold her in Rajasthan for Rs 1.5 lakh, her father alleged.
However, the victim managed to escape and lodged a complaint with Kiriba police. Acting on the complaint, the cops arrested a person in Rajasthan.
Further investigation is on.
A few days back, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had rescued a minor girl of Odisha’s Sundargarh from Jhunjhun in Rajasthan. The minor girl was sold to Mukesh Agrawal and Kishan Agrawal by some of her relatives in Rourkela in December 2017.
