Another Odisha District On COVID-19 Death Map; Toll Rises To 225

Bhubaneswar: Another nine COVID-19 patients succumbed to the infection in Odisha, taking the toll to 225 on Wednesday.

Among them, five are from Ganjam district and one each from Gajapati, Keonjhar, Khurda and Sundargarh. This is the first COVID-19 death in Keonjhar.

The Health Department has identified them as:

  1. A 42-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes and acute kidney injury.
  2. A 52-year-old woman of Ganjam district.
  3. A 59-year-old man of Ganjam district.
  4. A 53-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension.
  5. A 63-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from uncontrolled diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
  6. A 55-year-old man of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  7. A 27-year-old man of Gajapati district.
  8. A 21-year-old man of Keonjhar district who was also suffering from diabetes (Type-I).
  9. A 60-year-old woman of Khurda district.

With these nine deaths, the virus has so far claimed 117 lives in Ganjam district, 31 in Khurda, 11 in Cuttack, 14 in Gajapati, 11 in Sundargarh, 10 in Rayagada, four in Puri, three each in Nayagarh and Balasore, two each in Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and Angul and one each in Bargarh, Jhasuguda, Keonjhar and Sambalpur.
