Another Record Surge In COVID-19 Cases In Bhubaneswar; Affected Tally Rises To 4595
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported the second-highest single-day spike of 237 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the total infection to 4595.
The city had reported a record 248 fresh cases on July 24.
Of the 237 cases, 132 are those in quarantine and 105 are local contacts.
According to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), eight cases each have been reported from Forest Park (near Jindal office) and Badagarh Brit Colony and five each from Saheed Nagar and Salia Sahi.
Six employees of a private hospital and one of central government hospital have also tested positive for the virus.

Two more employees of the hotel at Jaydev Vihar have contracted COVID-19, taking the total to 20.
Two among the quarantine cases have travel history to Kolkata while the rest have been infected by previous patients.
Among the local contact cases, four are from Chandrasekharpur BDA colony and three with travel history to other districts.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined and sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC added.
On the other hand, 101 more patients have been cured of the infection.
With 23 deaths and 3015 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1551 active cases.
