Another Western Disturbance To Bring Rainfall In Odisha; Cold Wave To Return After 2 Days
Bhubaneswar: Angul and Jajpur in Odisha witnessed dense fog on Wednesday morning, reducing visibility to below 200 metres.
Notably, the India Meteorological Department had issued dense fog warning for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal till 8.30 on Wednesday.
The mercury dropped to 9.5 degree Celsius in Phulbani, which was the coldest place in Odisha. G Udayagiri and Kirei recorded 10 degree Celsius while it was 10.5 degree Celsius at Daringbadi.
MeT office has forecast rain for the next two days under the influence of another western disturbance.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Deogarh on Wednesday. Rainfall activity will increase in the subsequent 24 hours with likely impact in North Odisha, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri.
The minimum temperature is likely to fall from February 11 after witnessing a gradual rise by 3 to 4 degree Celsius during the next 2 days, it added.
