Bhubaneswar: While extending New Year greetings to the people, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Wednesday announced the new motto of Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate.
The Police Commissioner said that people misunderstood the earlier motto ‘We Care – We Dare’, which meant ‘we care for people and we dare criminals’. To make it more appealing to people, it will be changed to ‘Apananka Police – Apananka Suraksha’, he said.
Sarangi hoped that in 2020, police will be able to further build upon the public trust and solve their issues adequately.
“If a child is presented a negative perception of the police force since birth, he will grow up with it and this is detrimental in forging a good police-public relationship,” he said, adding that it is the responsibility of the mass media to present the right picture.
