San Francisco: Tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to enter the electric car market sometime in 2024. Known as Project Titan, it is believed to feature the “next level” battery technology that could bring down the cost of batteries dramatically and improve the range.
Apple is believed to be researching on variants of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) for the battery.
The electric vehicle (EV) will have self-driving capability and use internally developed AI and LIDAR sensors.
Coming to the name, there’s speculation on whether Apple would use its ‘i’ prefixed nomenclature or not.
News of Apple entering the EV market had emerged earlier with unconfirmed reports of the former’s interest in buying Tesla – the world’s most popular electric vehicle company.
