Apple iPhone 16 With iOS 18.2 To Debut Today
Bhubaneswar: Today is a big day for die-hard fans of Apple iPhone and other Apple devices.
Apple Inc. will unveil its latest iPhone 16 but without advanced Apple Intelligence features. While select artificial intelligence (AI) features are expected to roll out next month, more advanced generative AI tools, such as Genmoji for AI-generated emojis and Image Playground for image generation, are expected to arrive with the iOS 18.2 update either in December or early next year.
Apple will also unveil other hardware at its annual product launch ahead of the long holiday season, which is also the company’s busiest and most profitable. Apple’s product launch event is titled “It’s Glowtime” and is being held at the company headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Apple’s failure to roll out its generative AI features has given a frustrating time for its investors and analysts. Reports suggest that Apple has roped in OpenAI to integrate its ChatGPT feature with Apple’s Siri voice assistant. However, the full rollout of Apple Intelligence may happen slowly and will be staggered. Apple announced the integration of AI features in the upcoming devices at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier this year.
While Apple Intelligence may be the showpiece feature of iPhone 16 at its launch today, news reports suggest that many of the hyped features may not be available immediately. Also, these features may not be available in critical regions such as China and some EU nations, including France, Germany and Italy.
