Mumbai: Celebrated music composer AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija got married to Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed on Thursday.
The Osar awardee shared the happy news with fans on social media, posting a family wedding portrait from the nikah ceremony. The 55-year-old music maestro, his wife Saira Banu, their other two children Ameen and Rahima can be seen posing with the newlyweds. A portrait of Rahman’s mother Kareema is kept aside.
“May the Almighty bless the couple .. thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan #nikkahceremony #marraige,” Rahman wrote along with the picture.

The bride shared the wedding picture on her Instagram handle. “The most awaited day in my life. Married to my man @riyasdeenriyan,” Khatija wrote.
So who is Rahman’s son-in-law?
While Khatija has sung a few songs few songs in Tamil films, her husband is a sound engineer from Chennai, and an aspiring entrepreneur.
Riyasdeen graduated from Mohamed Sathak AJ College of Engineering in Chennai and then did a diploma course in audio engineering from KM College of Music & Technology.
He has been working with Rahman on his live shows since 2017 and also collaborated with him on Atlee’s 2017 film Mersal, which featured Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal.
Riyasdeen, who has also worked with music composer and director Amit Trivedi, got engaged to Khatija on December 29, 2021.
