New Delhi/Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: In a show of gratitude to all those serving humanity amid worldwide crisis due to coronavirus, an IAF chopper showered flower petals on the Police War Memorial and hospitals attending to COVID-19 patients in New Delhi on Sunday morning.
Petals were also showered on KIMS COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar and Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack.
The hospitals had also put up ‘thank you’ note for the armed forces for this gesture.
On Friday, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, with all three service heads, had announced that the Air Force would conduct flypasts across the length and breadth of the country, helicopters shower petals on COVID hospitals and Army bands play outside medical buildings in most districts as a “gesture of special gratitude”.
