Bhawanipatna: Armed robbers broke into the house of a businessman in Lanjigarh area of Odisha’s Kalahandi district and looted over Rs eight lakh in cash and gold ornaments in the early hours of Tuesday.
As per information, the incident took place around 2 am at the house of Anand Agarwal, who operates a kiosk banking service, and resides with his family.
Sources said around eight masked men, armed with firearms and knives, forced their way into the house and held the family members at gunpoint during the robbery. The miscreants escaped with around Rs eight lakh in cash and over 15 tolas of gold jewellery.
After the robbers fled, the family members raised an alarm. A police team visited the spot and launched an investigation.
Police will examine CCTV footage from the area as part of the probe to gather leads to identify and nab the robbers.
