Bhubaneswar: With the BJP planning to launch a month-long public outreach programme to mark completion of nine years of Narendra Modi government, the state executive of its Odisha unit will hold a meeting on Saturday to finalise a series of events.
The BJP plans to hold different programmes for a month from May 30 and the state executive meeting will give a final touch to the events for showcasing the achievements the central government since 2014.
The state executive is meeting for the first time after Manmohan Samal took over as Odisha unit president. The meeting will be attended by the three Union ministers from the state, Ashiwini Vaishnaw, Dharmendra Pradhan and Bisheshwar Tudu, according to party spokesperson Golak Mohapatra.
As the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections are 10 months away, the meeting assumes significance as the party badly needed to revamp the organisation. The party is likely to discuss steps required to galvanise the organisation to take on the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the state.
The performance of the state government and implementation of different schemes of the Centre are also expected to be analysed thoroughly at the meeting.
Apart from party MPs and MLAs, the meeting will be attended by national functionaries Sunil Bansal and D Purandeswar, state office-bearers, district presidents, district in-charges and presidents of different morchas.
