Assistant Executive Engineer Found Hanging In Official Residence In Odisha’s Kandhamal

Kandhamal: An assistant executive engineer (AEE) was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Phulbani of Kandhamal district on Saturday.

As per reports, the AEE was identified as Tusharendra Nayak of Mayurbhanj, who was working in Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Phulbani. He was supposed to go on a field visit with one of his colleagues on the day.

As Nayak did not turn up in the office for a long time, his colleague called him over phone several times. But Nayak neither received the calls nor called back the colleague.

His colleague then went to Nayak’s government quarters at Nadikhandi Sahi under Town police limits to enquire. He found the AEE hanging from ceiling fan of his bedroom of the quarters and informed the ITD project administrator.

On being informed, police and ITDA officials went to Nayak’s house. Police sent Nayak’s body for post-mortem and started investigation. Though police suspected it to be suicide, they could not confirm what led Nayak to take the extreme step. The police have informed his family members who are staying in Bhubaneswar.
