Attack On House Surgeon Sparks Tension At Bhima Bhoi Medical College in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Tension prevailed at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir as a miscreant attacked a house surgeon student on Thursday.

As per reports, the miscreant attacked the medico while he was going to a place near the medical college. The student, who was critically injured in the attacked, has been admitted in the hospital and was undergoing treatment in the ICU.

Following the incident, the medical students locked up the main gate of the college and sat on a dharna demanding stern action against the miscreant and adequate security in the campus.

On being informed, Balangir district collector and SP went to the medical college where health services have been affected by the students’ dharna.

While police have started investigation, the superintendent of the medical college held discussion with the agitating students to call off the agitation.
