Attack On Man In Bhubaneswar: Three Accused To Appear In Court On Feb 6
Bhubaneswar: A week after a murderous assault on Parbinder Pal Singh near an apartment in Laxmisagar area in Bhubaneswar, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Wednesday issued a notice to the three accused to appear in person in the court on February 6.
After the incident took place in the morning of January 14, police had arrested the three accused, Sankar Rout, Deepak Mohanty and Deepak Jena and forwarded them to the court in the evening. However, the court granted them bail at night.
Not registering a case under Section 307 by the police against the accused had sparked widespread protests.
Members of the Sikh community had taken out a candle rally in Bhubaneswar demanding stern action against the accused while the BJP had lodged a complaint against the former BMC Mayor Anant Jena and Khurda DSP Anup Kanungo for visiting the residence of the injured man late at night and threatening him and his family.
