Bhubaneswar: Following the government directive restricting passengers in an autorickshaw to two and rising fuel price, the Rajdhani Auto-Rickshaw Mahasangha has hiked the fares in Odisha capital.
A passenger will now have to pay Rs 50 within 3 km and Rs 15 thereafter for each km against Rs 20 and Rs 10 respectively.
According to the association, the fares have not been fixed by the Transport Department since 2005 because of which drivers are operating without any particular fare structure.
The decision to fix the fares was taken to avoid dispute between the drivers and passengers, it said.
