Ballot Papers Of Two Different Colours To Be Used On EVMs In ULB Elections In State
Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission Commission (SEC) on Saturday announced that ballot papers of two different colours will be used in the elections to the urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state.
The Commission, in an official order, stated that the printed ballot papers will be pasted in the ballot unit of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and used for the purpose of Election Duty Certificate (EDC) and tendered vote.
It has been decided that ballot papers of two different colours will be used. The colour of ballot papers for the corporators/councilor post will be pink and those for the mayor/chairperson post yellow.
On February 3, the SEC had issued an order stating that EVMs supplied by the SEC will be used in the elections to the posts of mayors/chairpersons and corporators/councillors.
Two EVMs will be used in each booth for elections to councillor/chairperson in case of municipalities/NACs and corporator/mayor in case of municipal corporations, the order stated.
