Bank Locker Search: Sisodia Gives Himself ‘Clean Chit’, Says CBI Found Nothing
New Delhi: Following search of his bank locker on Tuesday, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia gave himself a clean chit, claiming that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials found nothing.
“Nothing was found in my bank locker today, just like nothing was found at my residence during the CBI raid. I am happy that I have got a clean chit. The CBI officials treated us well, and we also cooperated with them. Truth has won,” Sisodia said.
Sisodia and his wife were present when a team of CBI officials reached the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch at Ghaziabad’s Sector 4 Vasundhara to execute the search in connection with the liquor scam.
“CBI raided my house on Janmashtami. The keys of the lockers were seized by the CBI during the raids on August 19. Today, CBI opened that locker but found nothing. Jewellery amounting to Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 which belongs to my wife was found,” Sisodia said.
“The CBI officials searched our lockers and documents. But still they will arrest me soon because they have orders from the top,” the AAP leader predicted.
Sisodia is among 15 people and entities named in an FIR registered by CBI for alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi government’s now-scrapped Excise policy 2021-22.
