Mumbai: As a three-day bank strike looms, the State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an important advisory for the benefit of customers.
The proposed strike, from September 28 to 30, has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella body of seven unions representing 90 per cent of officers and employees across private and public sector banks.
In its notice, SBI has advised customers to wrap up their important banking services before the three-day strike to avoid any inconvenience.
For those who need to visit the bank physically, SBI urged customers to finish their pending work, such as transactions, documentation, any other assistance or queries, at their respective branch ahead of September 28.
The bank stated it is trying to ensure smooth functioning of essential services during the three days of proposed strike. However, the strike could affect operations at branches depending on employee participation.
The bank urged customers to opt for ATMs, CSPs (Customer Service Point, also known as Bank Mitra or mini-bank for essential banking needs).
Customers have also been advised to use ATMs and Automated Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs) for cash requirements during the strike period.
SBI’s digital channels for online transactions will be functional. Hence, customers can use netbanking services, YONO, mobile banking and UPI for digital transactions.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding,” was how the SBI advisory ended.
