Barabati ODI: India On The Cusp Of Making History; Know More

Cuttack: Will left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav reach 100-wicket milestone in ODI cricket at Barabati Stadium here on Sunday? The Chinaman bowler recently became the first Indian to take two international hat-tricks and the fans are expecting more from him in the ODI series-decider between India and West Indies. One wicket and he is there.

The Indian bowlers have so far been able to restrict the Windes batsmen to their crease after winning the toss and electing to bowl with the scorecard reading 87/2.

This decision is in line with 2011, when India batting second trounced Windies, despite the collapse of the top order.

The Barabati Stadium, which saw cricket legend Kapil Dev’s 300 Test wicket, is also on the brink of witnessing some more records in cricket.

1. With this match, India will be hoping to register their 10th straight bilateral ODI series win against the West Indies.

2. There are great expectations from Rohit Sharma, who is just 9 runs short of creating history and getting past Sanath Jayasuriya’s 2,387 runs record in a year in 1997.  Rohit has so far picked up 2,379 runs.

3. Similarly, India skipper Virat Kohli is  just 56-runs short to becoming 7th highest run-getter in ODIs and surpassing South African legend Jacques Kallis’ 11,579 runs 328 matches with an average of 44.36.. Virat has scored 11,524 runs with an average of 69.70.
