Battling Covid-19: Mahindra Readies High Spec Ventilators
Pune: The country’s biggest SUV maker Mahindra and Mahindra is ready to deliver its promise of much-needed medical equipment required to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The company has channelled its resources into making face shields, masks, aerosol boxes, affordable ventilators and now a high-spec ventilator. The automaker, along with Bengaluru-based healthcare partner Skanray, has simplified ventilator designs and helped in scaling up capacity.
SkanRay/Mahindra ventilator, especially designed for Coronavirus, is ready for production. Thankfully there is no demand. Despite the ingenuity and many weeks of hard work by our engineers, we hope the machines never have to leave our factories. @MahindraRise pic.twitter.com/wRsIBoDBD8

MD Pawan Goenka tweeted on Friday that the high-spec ventilator is ready for production. He said there isn’t an immediate requirement for these ventilators, and wished that such a critical situation never arose when it will be required.
Chairman Anand Mahindra echoed Dr Goenka’s feelings and appreciated the hard work.
Earlier, the company readied a low-cost prototype of an automated version of the Bag Valve Mask ventilator (commonly known as Ambu bag).
