Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) targets to complete its affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur by September 2022.
It was revealed in the development authority’s Annual Report 2020-21 which was released by its vice-chairman Sanjay Kumar Singh at the BDA’s 39th Foundation Day function, here on Wednesday.
The Chandrasekharpur project being implemented on PPP basis will have 2600 houses in 20.21 acre area. The colony will have community facilities like primary school, primary health centre, shopping area, play area.
Besides, the BDA is constructing housing units for slum and informal settlement at Gadakan, Ghatikia and Subudhipur area in the city. The construction of a 100-seat Rental Housing Complex for migrant construction workers at Ghatikia has been completed and another such complex is coming up at Chandrasekharpur.
“The BDA has undertaken several important projects such as Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), child-friendly city planning, affordable housing, online building plan approval system, town planning scheme, construction of Baramunda ISBT among others to make Bhubaneswar a truly global and inclusive city in the country,” said Singh.
On the occasion, Singh handed over scholarship to five children of BDA staff who had secured more than 90% marks in Class X examination. The function was organised adhering to all COVID-19 safety guidelines in presence of senior officers of the BDA.
