Bending The Curve: COVID Week In This Odisha District From Tomorrow; Know The List Of Activities
Berhampur: The Ganjam administration has decided to observe COVID Week from September 24 to October 1.
An extensive awareness campaign will be launched during the week.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that health staff will visit door-to-door to trace people with COVID-19 symptoms. They will also check the oxygen level of the residents during the survey. Besides, awareness rally with adherence to social distancing and competition on paining, debate and slogan on Coronavirus theme will be organized during this week.
“A ‘COVID Rath’ will roll on the streets during the week to spread awareness about the disease. Shops and commercial establishments will be encouraged to strictly follow the guidelines. Stricter enforcement will be done to ensure that no one steps outside without wearing masks,” he added.
The collector, through a video message, had earlier warned people of any complacency amid a drop in positive cases. He elaborated on maintaining social distance and wearing the masks properly.

Ganjam, which was once a COVID-19 hotspot, has been bent the curve with strict measures. It has been able to restrict the daily cases to around 100 in September.
On Tuesday evening hours, the collector personally took stock of the situation at the district headquarters town of Chatrapur and asked the medicine store owners to immediately intimate the district administration about suspected COVID-infected customers found purchasing medicine.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in the district has touched 19781 with 71 new cases being added to the tally in the last 24 hours. While the virus has so far claimed 218 lives, Ganjam has hight recovery rate of 97.3 per cent.
