Bengaluru: A woman, who was arrested on June 1 for allegedly hitting an auto-rickshaw driver with her slipper during a road dispute, was later seen falling at his feet seeking an apology.
In the video, which surfaced on Monday, Pankhuri Mishra, 28, a migrant from Bihar, can be heard saying that she panicked when the auto moved close to their two-wheeler since she is pregnant. She thought that the auto-rickshaw would hit her, prompting a strong reaction out of fear for her unborn child and the risk of miscarriage. She admitted that her reaction was extreme and unwarranted. which is why she decided to meet the 33-year-old auto driver, Lokesh, in person to apologise. The couple even touched his feet as a sincere gesture to seek forgiveness for the distress and humiliation she caused.

The incident took place outside Centro Mall in Bellandur at around 3 pm on May 31, when Pankhuri, now out on station bail, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler with her husband. A video of the incident, also shared widely on social media, showed the woman hitting the driver with her slipper during the argument as he continued to record her.

“Banaega video? Chal bana video (Will you record this? Okay, make a video),” she can be heard telling the driver.
She was also seen calling someone, saying: “Yeh badtameezi kar rha hai, mera pair kuchla aur uske baad video bana raha hai (This guy is misbehaving, he crushed my leg and then he is making a video.)”
The driver, however, has denied the charge.
According to Lokesh, who filed a police complaint after the video went viral, the two-wheeler brushed against his vehicle, and Pankhur started hitting him when he pointed it out to them. She appeared before the police on Sunday for questioning and claimed that the driver had behaved inappropriately, prompting her reaction, the Indian Express reported.
Demanding action against her, several pro-Kannada activists demonstrated outside the Bellandur police station on Sunday, the report added.
