Berhampur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials apprehended Senior Social Security Assistant of EPFO Regional Office, Berhampur, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
He has been identified as Anil Rath.
He was trapped by the CBI near Lanjipalli on Thursday while accepting the bribe from a company representative in a hotel. The entire bribe money was recovered from him, following which he was taken to the CBI office in Bhubaneswar, according to sources.
Rath had allegedly demanded illegal gratification for approving the authorised signatory application of the employer, the private company, a CBI release said.
