Bhubaneswar: Legendary singer Bhikari Bal’s wife Usharani Bal left for her heavenly abode in Bhubaneswar following age related ailments. She was 86.
Usharani, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital city, breathed her last on Monday evening, family sources said.
She was surrounded by family members at the time of passing. Her last rites will be held at Swargadwar in Puri on Wednesday.
She was admitted to a private hospital after she fell sick on November 2, the day of her husband’s death anniversary. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After a few days in the ICU, she recovered and was discharged from the hospital. However, she was readmitted to the hospital after her health worsened, where she passed away.
The 86-year-old spouse of Bhajan Samrat is survived by sons Ashok Bal and Amiya Bal, son-in-law Dr Sunamani Rout, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
