Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, director of the airport Suresh Chandra Hota said precautionary measures have been taken to ensure that the infrastructure of the airport remains intact.
“We are constantly observing the cyclone update and the time of its landfall. Since most of the areas of the new terminal of the airport have been covered with large glass panes, we have kept the adequate sand bags to protect them. We have prepared contingency plans. Besides, officials who are in charge of various departments of the airport, have been asked to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures,” he said.
Taking note wind speed of the cyclonic storm, the airport authorities will decide on the change in the flight schedule or cancellation of the flight, he informed.
