Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Friday submitted six proposals for development of Bhubaneswar to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
During a meeting with the chief minister, Sarangi expressed her New Year wish and submitted the letters on the proposed projects. Following are the proposals submitted by the MP to the chief minister:
- Widening of Nandankanan road to 200 ft
- Construction of flyovers from Kalpana Square to Ravi Talkies and from Sishu Bhawan Square to Museum Square in the city. The DPR of the two projects have been completed and submitted to the district collector, BDA and BMC. Further steps are awaited.
- Construction of a 148-km ring road around the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. This road would provide communication facility to peripheral areas and ease traffic movement inside the city.
- Development of Daya West canal and its connecting road
- Allotment of land for Sahidnagar market to rehabilitate the traders, who were evicted from the old place for construction of Bhawani Mall. The market will benefit around 400 affected traders and 4 lakh people staying in the area.
- Construction of a community park for senior citizens in Nayapalli. Around 300 members of the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association have been demanding for the park since 2016.
Stating that the state government has taken up several development projects after BJP came to power, the MP said these projects would further speed up the process.
Sarangi also thanked the chief minister for taking swift action on four proposals submitted by her on September 14, 2024. While one project is about to be completed, the works on the rest proposals were going on, she added.
