Bhubaneswar: OUAT Auditorium With 1000-Seat Capacity To Be Completed By December
Bhubaneswar: The state-of-the-art auditorium under construction in the campus of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar will be completed by December this year.
This was stated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian during a visited the OUAT on Thursday evening. He reviewed various projects under the 5T Transformation Programme during the visit.
Taking stock of the progress of the construction work of the auditorium with 1000 seat capacity, Pandian said it would host training programmes, workshops and conferences on agricultural education from state to international level. It will be the largest auditorium in the country.
He also said all steps will be taken to make the university a leading educational and research institution of national level. All classrooms of OUAT will be converted into smart classrooms, he added.
He also reviewed the construction work of the boys’ hostel which would have 500 beds and the renovation of the women’s hostel. During interaction with the students, he said steps would be taken on their demand for opening badminton courts and gymnasium in the hostels. The works of bother hostels are targeted to be completed by December.
Pandian visited the renovation work of the 200-bed Farmers’ Hostel. The works of the hostel, which will accommodate the farmers coming for agriculture training, will be completed by September.
Principal secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department Arabinda Kumar Padhee; principal secretary, Works department VV Yadav, Managing Director of OBCC and vice-chancellor of OUAT were present.
