Bhubaneswar: Patha Utsav, the popular open-street event, is set to return to Bhubaneswar in the last week of December.
Preparations are underway to host the programme in one designated stretch across three different zones of the city from late December through mid-January, every Sunday from 7 am to 10 am, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Chanchal Rana.
The objective is to offer engaging outdoor experience with activities like dance, music, painting, skating, and several other recreational activities during winter mornings.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has launched the 9th edition of Ekamra Walks, coinciding with the Indian Road Congress (IRC) being held at Janata Maidan here. Among the highlights are the ‘Ekamra Heritage Walk’, which guides participants through the Ekamra Kshetra, and the ‘Dhauli Peace Walk’, tracing emperor Ashoka’s transformation post-Kalinga war. Other trails included the ‘Spiritual Sojourn’, ‘Mystical Odyssey’, and ‘Odia Literary Trail’, each offering unique insights into the city’s diverse cultural and spiritual tapestry. Additional trails such as the ‘Culture, Craft & Conversations Trail’, ‘Walk in Wilderness’, and ‘Jungle Safaris at Bharatpur’ promise to engage participants with the city’s beauty.
The nine thematic trails also integrate a Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) communication objective under BMC’s outreach initiative.
The BDA is also planning a food festival and night market to further enrich the city’s cultural scene.
