Bhubaneswar Students Set For Studying Abroad To Be Inoculated On Priority

Bhubaneswar: There’s good news for students residing in the Odisha capital.

Those who have gained admission in foreign educational institutions and require a vaccination certificate to travel abroad will be inoculated on a priority basis.

Announcing this on Saturday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Sanjay Singh said that students from the city municipal corporation area can register themselves to get the vaccine by calling 1929 from Sunday. “We will make special arrangement and ensure vaccination for them,” he said.

Clearing the air on vaccines shortage, the BMC Commissioner also said that the vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group will be intensified from Tuesday. “Fresh slots for the first dose will be opened soon. The 1.70 lakh beneficiaries, who have taken the first dose of the vaccine, will also get the second jab within four to six weeks,” he assured.

The BMC has also rolled out a mobile van service to carry out mandatory COVID-19 testing at fish markets, vegetable markets and other crowded places in the city.
