Bhubaneswar: To contain the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in the Odisha capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had decided to follow the same strategy, which has been successfully put in place in Ganjam district.
Briefing the media on Thursday, BMC Additional Commissioner Parul Patwari said that 565 Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) have been formed to conduct massive health screening in all slums and other localities in the city. Apart from this, the BMC will collect garbage from the house of the infected people, who are living in home isolation.
“To stop the spread of the virus, the BMC will keep a constant vigil on the infected persons to ascertain whether they are abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines,” Patwari said, adding that any persons having any flu-like symptoms can dial toll-free number 1929 for necessary assistance.
