Bhubaneswar Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University has instituted the SOA Yuva Sahitya Puraskar from this year to recognise and encourage outstanding young talent in Odia literature.
“The award seeks to honour remarkable works across genres such as poetry, fiction, drama, and literary criticism, and carries a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, along with a citation and a shawl. With this initiative, SOA aims to celebrate the creative promise of young Odia writers and nurture the literary voices of the future,” the institute said in a release.
For SOA Yuva Sahitya Puraskar 2025, applications are invited from Odia authors who are 40 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2025. “Submissions may be made either by the authors themselves or by their publishers. Each entry should include two copies of the submitted book, along with a self-attested copy of a valid proof of date of birth ( If submitted by the publisher, an affidavit confirming the author’s age must also be provided)—such as an Aadhaar card, passport, driving license, or voter ID,” it further stated.
The last date for submission is October 7.
