Patna: Roads were blocked by the protesters in Bihar capital Patna and other places across the state on Friday following the bandh called by the opposition parties over alleged “irregularities” in the Railway Recruitment Board exam.
The Bihar Bandh was called by several students’ groups including the All-India Students Association (AISA)
The protesters had turned violent and set a passenger train on fire. Another train was attacked with stones against the railway jobs exam on a day the country celebrated Republic Day.
The protests began after the Railway Recruitment Board’s decision to hold the Railway Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB-NTPC) exam 2021 in two stages.
The protesters claimed that the second stage is unfair to those who have cleared the first stage, results for which were announced on January 15.
