Kendrapara: Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra has been expelled from the party’s Kendrapara district committee on Friday.
District party chief Durjyodhana Sahu ‘expelled’ him as special invitee for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
The move came after some of Mohapatra’s supporters raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party’s national president Amit Shah during ‘Mishran Parva’ event held at Singita Sindhibata in the district on Thursday. They also attacked other members of the saffron party who opposed them and vandalised the stage.
In his reaction, Bijoy said,”The state-level leaders of the party are hatching conspiracy against me. They are attempting to remove me from the party. However, if the party organisation will be strengthened, after my removal, I will be happy.”
