Jagatsinghpur: A statue of legendary leader and former Odisha chief minister Biju Patnaik at the Siali Beach in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district was allegedly vandalised by unidentified miscreants, triggering outrage among locals.
Visitors to the beach, including tourists and locals, found the statue in a damaged condition on Thursday morning. News of the incident spread quickly, sparking resentment among residents of nearby villages.
Expressing anger over the alleged vandalism at a prominent tourist destination, locals demanded that those responsible be identified and arrested at the earliest.
Following the incident, Padmapur Sarpanch lodged a complaint at Ersama Police Station and sought steps to identify the accused and take appropriate action.
