Bhubaneswar: Unknown bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs from a jewellery shop owner in Odisha’s capital on Saturday.
According to reports, Manas Kumar Sahoo who has a jewellery shop in the market area under Airfield police limits of Bhubaneswar hung a bag filled with jewellery on his bike and was shutting down his shop when two bike-borne miscreants snatched the bag from the bike and fled.
The jeweller informed the police following which the cops reached the spot and started a probe.
The bag contained both new gold and silver ornaments and some old ornaments given by customers for repair work, Sahoo wrote in his police complaint.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV, based on which the police investigation has begun.
Airfield Police have constituted a team that is conducting raids in Airfield, Pokhariput and Sundarpada areas to nab the looters, sources said.
