Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is all set to hold an important meeting of its extended executive committee in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik will preside over the executive meeting at Sankha Bhawan, the party headquarters, in the state capital.
Party MPs, MLAs and office-bearers will participate in the meeting, which is being held ahead of the regional party’s 27th foundation day on December 26.
BJD vice president Debi Prasad Mishra told reporters that the office-bearers of the party’s students, youths and women wings will also participate in the state executive body meeting.
The meeting will hold discussion regarding the celebration of BJD’s 27th foundation day on December 26, he said.
The party has planned to hold marathons, blood donation camps, plantation drives and other social programmes across the state on the occasion of its foundation day.
A cycle rally from Anand Bhawan in Cuttack to Sankha Bhawan in the capital city will also be held on the occasion, Mishra said.
The foundation day of the party will be celebrated in all blocks, urban local bodies (ULBs) and 147 Assembly segments in Odisha.
