BJD To Win 75% Seats In Odisha Assembly Elections, Says Pandian

Bhubaneswar: BJD has expressed optimism that it would return to power by winning 75% of seats in the ensuing Assembly elections in Odisha.

Speaking at the state-level convention of Biju Sramik Samukhya in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, BJD leader and 5T chairman VK Pandian said the ruling party will win the elections with a record margin in the Assembly elections. The BJD under the leadership of chief minister Naveen Patnaik will also improve its performance in the Lok Sabha elections, he added.

Seeking blessings from the people, Pandian appealed to them to vote for Conch symbol of the party irrespective of the candidates as the it represents their leader Naveen Patnaik.

Stating that labourers play a major role in building a strong and Nabin Odisha, he said the chief minister has been according top priority to their welfare. While the chief minister’s father and legendary leader Biju Patnaik had raised the daily wage of the labourers from Rs 11 to 25, Naveen has created a record by increasing it by Rs 100 from the prevalent Rs 350 to Rs 450 despite opposition from several quarters.

Pandian also spoke on various development projects of the state government including the steps taken for economic upliftment of the workers.

Among others, minister Pritiranjan Ghadei, MLA Susant Rout and Cuttack mayor Subash Singh were present.
