Berhampur: A BJP worker was critically injured as some miscreants attacked him and exploded a bomb reportedly due to political rivalry in Ganjam district.
According to police, the BJP worker, Krishna Pradhan alias Pinku and his friend Bijay Kumar Sahu were going somewhere in their village Bomkei under Digapahandi police limits on Friday evening when the miscreants attacked them and hurled the bomb.
Krishna was seriously injured and admitted in Bomkei community health centre (CHC). Later, he was shifted to MKCG Hospital Berhampur as his condition worsened. Bijay was discharged after first aid.
The police assigned cause of the attack to political rivalry.
IIC of Digapahandi police station Madhaba Nanda Naik said they have identified all the miscreants who attacked the duo and raided several places since the incident but could not find them. They would be nabbed soon, he added.
