BJP’s Odisha In-Charge Sunil Bansal To Begin State Visit Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of BJP president J P Nadda’s visit, party’s national general secretary and Odisha in-charge Sunil Bansal is set to embark upon a two-day tour of Odisha on Monday to set in motion preparations for the 2024 elections.

It will be Bansal’s maiden visit to the state after he was given the responsibility of party’s prabhari for Odisha as well as West Bengal and Telangana, party sources said on Sunday.

Bansal’s visit comes close on the heels of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s tour in August which kickstarted BJP’s preparations for ‘Mission 120+’ for 2024 in Odisha, which has so far bucked the Narendra Modi wave.

Sources said Bansal is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar around 1 pm on Monday and the BJP state unit has chalked out elaborate plans to accord a grand welcome to him at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.

The senior leader is scheduled to hold discussions with state BJP President Samir Mohanty, other office bearers and top leaders during his two-day visit to the state. He will also meet party’s MPs and MLAs separately to discuss the roadmap for the 2024 general elections.

Odisha is one of the focused states of BJP central leadership and the saffron party has started its preparation for the 2024 elections, sources added.

Notably, Bansal played a key role in BJP’s electoral success in Uttar Pradesh since 2014 Lok Sabha polls to this year’s assembly polls.

Apart from Nadda and Bansal, BJP national general secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh is also scheduled to travel to Odisha this month as a flurry of activities will be seen in the saffron party in the state.

“Prashikshan Shivir, which was originally planned for last month and later postponed, will be held in the last week of September. Nadda will be attending this training workshop.
