Blackmail By Boyfriend With Their Intimate Pictures Leads Girl To Attempt Suicide By Jumping Into Kuakhai River Near Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Unable to bear mental trauma due to blackmail by boyfriend, a young girl reportedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into river Kuakhai near Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

According to sources, the girl came to Kuakhai bridge near Palasuni in the morning and after waiting for some time, jumped into the river. The local people of Balianta immediately went inside the river and rescued her.

On being informed, a team from Mancheswar police station went to the spot and admitted the girl in Capital Hospital at Bhubaneswar. After the doctors checked the girl and announced her condition to be normal, the police questioned her about the incident.

Later, police told the media persons that the girl stays near Nicco Park in Bhubaneswar. Her boyfriend had secretly taken some photographs of their intimate moments without her knowledge. He was demanding Rs 5,000 from her and blackmailing her that if she did not pay, he would upload the pictures in the social media.

Unable to meet his demand, she had earlier attempted to commit suicide twice due to the blackmail by her boyfriend. The police are making further investigation to identify the boyfriend and arrest him.
