BMC Asks All Banks To Provide Elderly Citizens Doorstep Service

Bhubaneswar: The Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has written to regional managers of all government, private, scheduled banks and RRBs asking them to provide door-to-door service to elderly citizens.

Pointing out that elderly citizens, above the age of 60, belong to the most vulnerable group vis-à-vis the COVID-19 virus, Prem Chandra Chaudhary has said that their movement needs to be restricted as much as possible.

Since banking is an important activity for which senior citizens have been visiting branches, banks need to help them so that they can avoid going out and use netbanking/mobile banking etc.

Chaudhary has requested bank managers to activate their staff to personally visit the elderly customers to orient them about mobile/internet banking methods and also attend to their personal requests.

Some of the banks have started sending personnel to elderly customers. Chaudhary urged all othr banks to follow that practice.
