Bhubaneswar: With the Capital City emerging as one of the hotspots of Odisha in spread of COVID-19, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has intensified its drive for enforcement of the guidelines.
The enforcement squads of the BMC on Wednesday closed two markets selling non-vegetarian items in the city. On the instruction of BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, zonal deputy commissioner Rabi Narayan Jethi conducted raids on the markets.
The raiding teams closed the markets at Patas Chhak on the way to SUM hospital from fire station and Rental Chhak due to violation of COVID-19 protocols for 48 hours.
Chaudhary has warned of taking stern measures, if people don’t abide by COVID norms strictly.
