Dhenkanal: Body of a school headmistress was found under mysterious circumstances from a locked room in Tumusingha area of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
As per preliminary sources, the body was found from a room in front of her house at Guneibili village under the jurisdiction of Tumusingha police station in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Parvati Dehuri. She was the headmistress of Panchashakha Government High School in Tumusingha. Her husband, Swami Satyananda Padhan, had passed away two years ago.
On being informed, a police team visited the site and launched an investigation into the incident. to ascertain the cause of Parvati’s death. A forensic team also visited the site as part of the probe.
The family raised suspicion over the death of the teacher claiming it was a murder. Family members said Pravati had returned from school around 5 pm on Wednesday and had gone to sleep after having dinner around 9.30 pm. However, she was found missing in the morning and her body was found in a closed room near the house after a frantic search.
