Mumbai: The untimely death of actor Shefali Jariwala has stunned Bollywood as well as her fans. Discussions have started on social media about the lifestyle led by those in the entertainment industry and the kind of stress they undergo – both physical and emotional.
Shefali (42), was rushed to the hospital by her husband and actor Parag Tyagi and a few of his friends on Friday evening where she was declared dead on arrival. Her body was shifted to the Cooper Hospital around 12.30 am on Saturday for an autopsy.
Prima facie, doctors suspect that actor died of a major cardiac arrest. However, authorities are taking no chances. A Mumbai Police team, accompanied by forensics experts visited Shefali’s residence late on Friday night and collected samples.
Shefali rose to fame in 2002 with the music video Kaanta Laga, which made her a household name. She later appeared in Salman Khan’s film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and starred in the 2019 web series Baby Come Naa. She also participated in popular dance reality shows like Boogie Woogie and Nach Baliye. She is also remembered for her stint on Bigg Boss 13.
Incidentally, her former partner and actor Sidharth Shukla, who also her co-contestant on Bigg Boss 13, died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 40 on September 2, 2021.
Shefali and Sidharth were in a relationship many years ago but had parted ways on good terms. In a past interview with BollywoodLife, Shefali had reflected on their bond in the Bigg Boss house and said, “Even after we stopped dating, we were always cordial whenever we bumped into each other.”
After her death, Shefali’s fans have circulated an emotional post of her’s on X i 2024 on Sidharth’s third death anniversary. “Thinking of you today mere dost,” she had posted with a red heart emoji.
