Mumbai: The legal dispute surrounding ‘Kala Hiran’ and Salman Khan has taken another dramatic turn.
Amid the ongoing controversy, the film’s producer has made a bold claim, asserting that the film will release across 8,000 screens while describing Salman as the ‘Bollywood Ka Baap.’
After the Delhi High Court postponed the hearing on Salman’s plea to halt the release of ‘Kala Hiran’ until July 6, filmmaker Amit Jani took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Salman Khan still hasn’t received relief from the Delhi High Court today, no ban on the film, hearing of the case adjourned till July 6. I had said earlier too that for the court, there is no star nor do they acknowledge any glamour, just by calling oneself the father of Bollywood, Kala Hiran won’t stop – this will release in 8000 cinema halls and simultaneously across the whole world.”

According to Salman’s plea, one of the promotional posters released in May 2026 features a character who closely resembles him, including a bracelet similar to his signature blue bracelet.
The actor argued that the character is shown holding a gun, even though he has been acquitted in the Arms Act case, which could give the public a misleading impression.
Salman also claimed that the film appears to portray matters that are still pending before the court.
He argued that releasing such content before the legal proceedings are concluded could affect the ongoing cases and his right to a fair trial.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the producers’ lawyer told Justice Jyoti Singh that Kala Hiran has not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
When the court asked about the film’s release, the lawyer said it does not have a release date yet.
The producers’ counsel also assured the court that the film would not be sent to the CBFC for certification before the next hearing, noting that no film can be released without the board’s approval.
After recording these submissions and noting that the producer’s rejoinder was yet to be filed, the Court adjourned the hearing on Salman’s plea seeking an interim stay on the film’s release until July 6.
