Bhubaneswar: Major security alerts were sounded in two district courts in Odisha on Friday after authorities received messages threatening bomb attack, sparking panic among lawyers, staff, visitors, and litigants.
Panic spread in district court complexes in Jagatsinghpur and Jharsuguda after bomb threat messages were received via email.
As per information, unidentified sender of the message reportedly threatened to blow up both court premises in the email. Following the threatening email, security arrangements at both court premises were immediately tightened.
Police teams, bomb disposal squads, and special squads rushed to the court premises and launched a detailed search operation. Every corner of the court complexes is being checked and suspicious objects are under close watch.
At the same time, a cyber team has also started an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email.
However, during the initial search, no explosive materials have been found so far. As a precautionary measure, the administration has taken all necessary safety steps to avert any untoward incident.
Police are treating the matter seriously and the investigation is ongoing. Efforts are on to identify the person who sent the threat and ascertain the motive behind it.
