Book On 100 Great IIT-ians To Be Released At Bhubaneswar’s SOA

Bhubaneswar: What is common between Nandan Nilekani, Kota Harinarayana, Narayana Murthy, Damodar Acharya, BK Syngal, Rabi Bastia, YC Deveshwar, Gopal Chandra Mitra, Manohar Parrikar and Capt. NS Mohan Ram?

All 10 gentlemen graduated from IITs before 2000 and are celebrated names in the field of engineering and technology.

Thousands of students have passed from IITs, considered to be the pinnacle of India’s higher learning, and made a name for themselves in different parts of the world. However, the names mentioned above are those who chose to ignore lucrative overseas assignments to serve their motherland.

All of them, and many more, feature in ‘100 Great IITians’– a 404 page compendium of illustrious engineers and technocrats who have provided leadership in different fields to ensure India’s growth and development over the years.

The book, edited by Commander VK Jaitly, will be released at the inauguration of Odisha chapter of Youth for Nation (Y4N), at the SOA auditorium on April 29.

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das will attend the event.

The book focuses on IIT passouts who refused to be allured by the glamour of the developed world. It dwells on success stories of great IITians who have contributed immensely in the field of technology, research and development, governance, academic, defence, social and spiritual sectors, art and culture and the corporate world.
